The amount is expected to support the treatment of children with cancer and also help in procuring logistics for the Oncology Unit of the department.

A Diamond Associate of Max International, Dr Kofi Nyarkopong, who made the presentation on behalf of the company, said the donation was part of its corporate social responsibility and a charitable initiative that sat well with the organisation’s initiative of assisting the poor and disadvantaged communities around the world by providing them with the resources they needed to get ahead.

He said Max International was about helping people to make a difference by improving their health status and providing opportunities “to supplement your income or build a lasting legacy, owning your own Max Business as a major step towards achieving your dreams.”

“We aim to empower people around the world to experience better health, success and significance. What we hope to do is to bring a life of significant change to those who partner us,” he stated.

“We are spreading and distributing ground breaking products at the same time. Those who decide to partner us have the opportunity to grow an additional source of income,” he added.

Dr Nyarkopong pointed out that the organisation settled on the Paediatric department because children were the future of the country.

“What they need is cash to purchase their medications and we hope this cash donation will not touch just one child or two but many children’s lives,” he stated.

Receiving the donation, the Deputy Director of Administration, Mr Kambarin Kombien, thanked the management of the company for the gesture, which according to him, would go a long way to save lives.

He said there was a research going on which made it possible for doctors to find causes and treat unborn babies with cancer. He expressed the hope that the donation would go a long way to help the unit in its research.
