Manya Krobo Bank establishes centre at Kakasunaka

The Manya Krobo Rural Bank Limited has opened a mobilisation centre at Kakasunaka Number One near the Michel Camp in the Kpone Katamanso District in the Greater Accra Region.

The bank, established in 1978, now has seven branches and three mobilisation centres. They are Somanya, Kpong, Akuse, Ashiyie, Madina and Ashaiman with the mobilisation centres at Madina and Agomanya main Markets. The latest centre is Kakasunaka.

 The Head of banking operations at the ARB Apex Bank, Mr Maxwell Donkor, who inaugurated the centre, commended the rural bank for establishing the centre which is situated between Afienya and Ashaiman.

Mr Donkor urged the bank to be customer friendly as that was the only way it could mobilise more deposits for growth. 

He also advised the customers to always endeavour to service their loans early to enable more people access the facility. 

Experience

A board member of the rural bank, Mr Michael Teye Nyaunu said the bank had gained the needed experience after operating for the past 38 years.

He said the bank had been doing business within the catchment area of Kakasunaka for almost two years now and that the establishment of the centre formed part of measures to bring the bank to the door steps of the people.

 “I am assuring you that all the monies you put in here is very, very safe,” Mr Nyaunu indicated. 

The District Chief Executive for Kpone Katamanso, Alhaji A. A. Tetteh said the MKRB was a partner in development and lauded the management of the bank for extending their services to the area.

“With the establishment of the centre, it will reduce the cost of travelling from here to Ashaiman to transact banking businesses,” the DCE stated.

The Chief of Kakasunaka Number One, Nene Akrofi II commended the management of the bank for the initiative.

Presentation

In a related development, the bank has presented 50 mono-desks to the Kpong Presbyterian Junior High School in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality in the Eastern Region.

The Secretary to the bank, Mr Robert Tetteh Matey-Johnson, said the presentation was in line with the corporate social responsibility of the bank to improve effective teaching and learning in the school and advised the pupils to be disciplined and also take their studies serious.

The Headmaster of the school, Mr Prosper Adikper expressed appreciation to their benefactors and pledged to put it to judicious use.
