Japan Motors launches 2016 Altima

The applause was spontaneous and took time to die out when Japan Motors, official distributors of Nissan cars in Ghana, launched the redesigned sleek and stylish Nissan Altima.

With the Japanese auto maker putting its metal sheet and technology to use, the 2016 Altima returned from the engineering theatre bolder in design and finished with luxury.

Engine

The car is powered by two engine types (your choice to make) — a 2.5-litre four-cylinder and a 3.5-litre V-6, both available solely with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).

The V-6 engine comes highly recommended if you are in the market for something sporty but still maintaining the performance of a saloon.

To prove that upgraded technology is still in its DNA, the Altima threw in a few more that Mr Imad Antoine Ghorayeb, the General Manager of Sales and Marketing of Nissan in West Africa, could not resist, citing it as a unique selling point.

“Nissan is always great with technology. In the Altima, we have the active understeer control. This innovative technology helps improve control when you take a corner. It reads the cornering situation, and if needed, will imperceptibly brake the appropriate wheel to help you steer through the turn.

“Altima’s rear multi-link suspension is designed for exceptional agility. You’ll feel it especially in the corners, when the layout of the suspension allows the rear wheels to turn slightly to match the front, giving you the sensation of riding on rails,” he said.

Interior

Inside, the Altima, the pull and push has been kept simple and laid out neatly, making it easy to use. The seat belts are easy to brace. While coming with admirable leather seats, the stitching are also unique and appealing and together complement the overall finishing of the executive seating arrangement. The audio system kicks out boredom while legroom and cargo space are enlarged.

The Managing Director of Japan Motors, Mr Salem Kalmoni, said beyond the sale of Nissan vehicles, the company provided genuine parts and after sales service.
