Also, part of the delegation was the bank’s Acting Chief Executive, Mr Lawrence Agyinsam.

The two-day conference presented an opportunity for companies around the world to meet US exporters. Attendees included more than 1000 exporters and representatives of financial institutions, foreign trade partners and government officials.

At the conference, the two officials met USA EXIM Bank officials and executives and obtained detailed information about USA export credits and programs.

The International forum, which is held annually, touched on various topics including, navigating rough waters; global challenges and trends; trade and the economy: a congressional perspective; export opportunities in sub-saharan africa; and rising to the challenge: how exporters are addressing the growing global demand for trade credit.

Mr Boateng said some of the key topics discussed at the conference included expanding globally, how minority and women-owned business are reaching new markets and examining ways to detect, prevent and prosecute fraud.

According to the Chairman, they learnt that organisations that provide services are often unaware that EXIM Bank can help take the risk out of exporting.

Panelists at the Conference discussed the benefits of USA EXIM Bank products, how to qualify for them and how they work, as well as an exposé from an exporter who used EXIM products to successfully win business overseas.

Mr Agyinsam expressed his satisfaction about the content of the Conference and hoped that knowledge and skills acquired and networks established at the Conference would help shape and package policies, programs, products and services of the Ghana EXIM Bank. The Ghanaian delegation has since returned home.
