Ghana Manufacturing Awards slated for April 29

The 2016 edition of the Ghana Manufacturing Awards is scheduled to take place at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel on April 29, 2017.

The awards which celebrates innovation in the industry with the ultimate aim of compelling professionals and companies to compete locally and globally, is organised by Xodus Communications.

A statement issued by the organisers said the purpose of the awards was to bring together players in the manufacturing industry and recognise achievements from local and international companies involved in manufacturing in Ghana.

It is also to reward those that have played a defining role in moving the industry forward and demonstrated achievement across a wide variety of domains, including sustainability and operational excellence.

“The GM Awards is your chance to come together to network, learn and celebrate various achievements with each other. These awards offer you the ideal place to meet decision makers, partners and colleagues from the across the region and discuss how the last 12 months have affected you,” the statement said.  

The awards

The Ghana Manufacturing Awards is touted as the way forward for the growth of this country.  Manufacturing contributes a great deal to the GDP, though bedevilled with many challenges such as cost of credit and high utility bills. 

“Some manufacturers have stood the test of time, others have innovated over the years. We want to celebrate outstanding performance in stewardship, health and safety, corporate social responsibility and Innovation in the manufacturing industry.

“No matter their size or field, the manufacturing awards team is eager to provide tools, campaigns and support the industry to thrive. 

“We believe in Ghanaian manufacturing and its contribution to the economy and community. We are here to celebrate and salute achievers in the industry,” the statement added. 

There are lots of categories within the awards spanning the length, breadth and depth of manufacturing and each of them is judged by a panel of individuals independent of the industry and a technical committee of impartial experts in different fields

The awards are entirely inclusive and open to any individual and company focused on manufacturing and cuts across service providers, distributors, financial institutions, insurance, regulators and government agencies.

Other awards

The company has an established track record in the organisation of awards in Ghana. It currently handles the Ghana Oil & Gas Awards, Ghana Auto Awards and the Ghana Aviation Awards. 

The awards are carefully managed to guard their credibility and ensure their sustainability. 

The awards are supervised by a board of eminent Ghanaians comprising Prof. David Atta Peters, Prof. Nana Essilfie Conduah, Dr Ato Conduah, Dr Paul Kofi Fynn and Dr Ken Kwaku.

The event is endorsed by the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
