It was on the theme ‘Functional roles and organisations.’

A statement from the school said 13 presentations were made which touched areas such as marketing, agribusiness, finance, accounting, management and human resource management.

“The quality of the papers showed a remarkable improvement, which is indicative of the fact that members are tuning up to the call to publish in quality journal outlets,” the statement said.

In his presentation, the Dean of Central Business School of CU, Professor Kwaku Appiah-Adu, encouraged members to step up their zeal for publication since the charter brings in its wake the demand for higher quality research output.

The Business School also used the opportunity to strengthen collaboration between numbers of academia and industry as part of the colloquium.

The Managing Partner of SONGHAI, Dr Hene Aku Kwapong, called on the CBS faculty to listen to the ‘voice of the customer’ first in order to conduct relevant research with practical relevance and application to industry.

He also encouraged members to utilise their own research in practice by possibly establishing businesses which will benefit from the research findings. This, he said, could serve as a focal point for attracting research funds from sponsoring agencies.
