uniCredit supports Kaneshie Polyclinic

Unicredit Ghana Limited has presented eight adjustable bed stands with mattresses, a flat screen television and a refrigerator, all valued at GH¢20,000, to the management of the Kaneshie Polyclinic to furnish a newly constructed ward at the clinic.

Before the donation of beds and other furnishings by uniCredit Limited, the newly built Patrick Amo-Mensah Ward had only eight beds that were a donation from a friend of the polyclinic.

The recent donation therefore brings  to 16 the number of beds in the new ward that was put up with funds generated internally by the polyclinic.

Following the donation, the polyclinic, which already had 37 beds, now has a total of 45.

The General Manager of uniCredit Ghana Limited, Mr P.V. Yeboah-Asiamah, who presented the items, said the donation formed part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility to society.

He said in furtherance of its social requirements, the firm had adopted the Princess Marie Louis Hospital (Children’s Hospital) and some orphanages and schools.

“Every year we celebrate a customers’ appreciation week, when we give freely to our customers. This year, the decision was made to spread our tentacles to other institutions besides the Children’s Hospital in Accra.

“it is based on this that we decided to choose five health facilities for support,” he said.

The five chosen health facilities include the Kaneshie, Ashaiman and Adabraka polyclinics. The rest are the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and the Effia-Nkwanta Hospital in Takoradi.

The Medical Director in charge of the Kaneshie Polyclinic, Dr Patrick Amo-Mensah, received the items on behalf of the clinic and commended uniCredit for the support.

According to him, the polyclinic serviced about 300 to 400 patients a day. He said he was hopeful that the donation would go a long way to boost health care at the facility.

“This is surely going to improve the rate at which patients recover from their illness in the Patrick Amo-Mensah Ward,” he said.

Early on, staff of the bank had cleaned, swept and desilted drains in the polyclinic.
