Two foundations donate to Ga South Municipal Hospital
The Lordina Foundation, in collaboration with the Obuobia Foundation, has donated an ambulance and medical supplies to the Ga South Municipal Hospital in Accra.

The ambulance was provided by the Obuobia Foundation, while the medical supplies and equipment were presented by the Lordina Foundation.
Presenting the items at a durbar at the hospital in Accra, Ms Obuobia Darko-Opoku, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency, said the presentation of the ambulance formed part of celebrations marking her 39th birthday which fell on August 22.

She said exactly a year ago, she used her birthday to put the smiles on the faces of people with disabilities in the constituency by providing them with wheelchairs and white canes, saying that act of love had gone a long way to transform the lives of majority of them.
She said her foundation had engaged in many interventions in the constituency but her greatest wish and desire was to see the constituency and its people, especially women and children, have the best health care.
“I am very convinced that no life should be lost due to lack of any medical equipment, be it ambulance, oxygen kit or hospital bed, and this led me to donate to the hospital, which serves as the major health facility in the whole municipality,” she said.
She expressed her appreciation to the First Lady, Mrs Lordina Mahama, for the numerous forms of support she (Ms Opoku) had received from the Lordina Foundation which had helped her put the smiles on the faces of many people, especially the underprivileged in society.
She also expressed her appreciation to the management and staff of the hospital for their commitment and dedication to the delivery of quality health care for their patients, in spite of challenges.
For his part, the Ga South Municipal Health Director, Dr Bright Davies-Teye, said currently about 583,000 people living in the municipality use the hospital and expressed appreciation to the Lordina and the Obuobia foundations for coming to help the hospital.
He said the medical supplies and the ambulance would go a long way to improve health care for the people.
