A statement from the Flagstaff House said President Mahama was looking forward to bilateral discussions at the political level and a similar one on how to boost the private sector’s role in the continent’s growth agenda.

Heads of State participation

According to the statement, Heads of State participating in the conference would take part in a special high-level engagement with the continent’s private sector and their counterparts from Japan and also discuss the promotion of structural economic transformation through economic diversification and industrialisation.

It said ahead of the opening of the conference today, President Mahama, who is expected back home on Monday, would hold talks with the Prime Minister of Japan, Mr Shinzo Abe.

Later yesterday, he was expected to grant audience to the Executive Director of the Global Fund.
