Societe Generale stirs competition in banking as it opens new branch in Dansoman

 

Societe Generale Ghana has stirred competition in the banking sector with the  opening of a new branch at Dansoman in Accra.

The bank will offer services, including Automated Teller Machine (ATM) to facilitate VISA Ghana link and master card transactions, electronic queue management system, and a digital corner to facilitate internet and telephone banking.

The bank will further offer products such as retail account investment, insurance products, overdrafts, loans and privileged banking services.

 

Services

At the event, the Managing Director of Societe Generale, Mr Sionle Yeo, said the bank would uphold its core values of teamwork, innovation, commitment, and loyalty in order to provide good services to their clients.

He urged small-scale and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the area to take advantage of the bouquet of services that the bank will offer to enahnce their businesses. 

“We have our relationship with our customers as a win-win situation; we only win when we help our customer win,’’ he said. 

The Head of Licensing, Mr Emmanuel Boakye,who represented the BoG, congratulated SCG for taking the initiative to bring enhanced services close to customers and prospective clients.

 

Finance

According to Mr Boakye, the financial sector played a crucial role in the development process by providing the needed finance for growth and economic wellbeing of the nation.

He said it was important for financial institutions to adopt innovative strategies to strengthen the sector in order to provide the needed capital for entrepreneurs.

Mr Boakye called on banks to deploy the right ICT infrastructure to enhance their operations and put in place controls to manage risks efficiently in order to remain relevant. 

He said the BoG would continue to come up with mechanisms that would boost the financial sector in order to provide an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
